- Call your airline for information on flight
arrivals and departures before, during and after a hurricane.
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
(and North Perry Airport) are not shelters. There are no provisions
to provide for the housing of the public during a hurricane.
- Do not park your car in the airport's garages.
All available garage parking spaces are used to store
airport-related vehicles and support equipment.
Before the Storm
As tropical storm conditions approach, airport
personnel monitor the situation closely and, in consultation with the
airlines, will determine when the last flights are allowed to arrive
and depart at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. This
will be announced in local media.
Flights must stop with sufficient time in advance
of the storm to ensure that airlines can relocate aircraft to a safe
location. This means that flights that normally terminate at Fort
Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport may terminate at an
alternate stop.
After the Storm
Once the storm has passed, damages, if any, will
be assessed and based upon that, flights will resume when the safety
of employees, flight personnel and the public can be ensured. Please
call your airline for the status of arriving and departing flights.
